Information we collect and why
a) Information you give us by contacting us
When you contact us by telephone or email, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, company name, and the content of your communication. We use this information to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to provide our services to you.
b) Information collected automatically by our hosting provider
When you visit this website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare, Inc.) may collect standard server log data as part of normal network operations. This may include your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and the time and date of your visit. This data is used for security, performance, and operational purposes only. We do not use it to identify you personally and we do not run any analytics software on this website.
c) Client and supplier data
As part of providing our services, we process personal data provided to us by clients and suppliers — for example, contact details for project communication, and data relevant to IT systems we manage. This processing is governed by our service agreements and applicable data protection law. Where we act as a data processor on behalf of a client, we do so only on their documented instructions.
Note: If a contact form is added to this website, this policy will be updated to describe the data collected, how it is used, and the lawful basis for processing. The form will only request information necessary to handle your enquiry.
Section 03
Cookies
This website does not use cookies for analytics, advertising, or user tracking. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may set technical cookies that are strictly necessary for the secure delivery and performance of the website. These cookies do not identify you personally and no profiling takes place.
Because we use only strictly necessary cookies, we are not required to obtain consent for their use under UK GDPR or the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). No cookie banner is shown.
Section 04
How long we keep your information
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law.
- Enquiry and contact data — retained for up to 12 months from the date of last contact, unless a longer period is required for contractual or legal reasons.
- Client and supplier data — retained for the duration of the relationship and for up to 6 years thereafter, in line with standard contractual limitation periods under Scots law.
- Server log data — retained by Cloudflare in accordance with their own data retention policies. We do not control the specific retention period for this data.
Section 05
Who we share your information with
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes. We may share data with:
- Cloudflare, Inc. — our website hosting and content delivery provider. Data may be processed on their infrastructure as part of normal site operation.
- Professional advisers — solicitors, accountants, or insurers, where necessary for legal or business purposes, and subject to confidentiality obligations.
- Law enforcement or regulatory authorities — where we are required to do so by law or by a binding court or regulatory order.
